southern regional office day out

my Labuan trip and beyond

Berada di Labuan dr 11-14 jan 2010. Tujuan: ada byk tapi hal kerja laaa, antaranya information collection and documentation on networking infrastructure requirements, contact local TM and revise and follow up on current  Internet Accounts, enable basic networking: switch installation and ethernet configuration, reconfigure broadband modem, enable VPN connection to HQ, test and deploy HRMIS and SPA connection. Phew a boring job to some. Did all the above at 4 locations in about 3 days. Balik bilik hotel around 9.00pm aku dh keletihan. Malaysia Timur get sunlight 1 hour before KL. So my body clock still not adjusted to the time difference.

Total baggage masa pegi 29kg (equipment jer total around RM7K worth), tak termasuk carry-luggage.

dikenali sebagai Mutiara Borneo (pearl of borneo) labuan terletak dibawah pentadbiran kerajaan persekutuan. Perkara yang menarik ttg labuan yang sempat ditemukan:

  1. 2 flights to labuan daily for both AirAsia and MAS
  8. ramai orang kerja offshore spt oil dan gas and perkapalan
  9. Labuan slalu takde air, orang labuan salahkan petronas plant yang guna byk air hehehe
  10. waktu malam, angin yang menderu2 berbunyi macam siulan… hebat!
  11. newspapers are always late. My hotel subscribes Borneo Post. We only get our newspaper when we reached back from work. They said newspaper arrive from mainland around 11.am using the morning flight from KK
  16. museums are labuan’s important landmarks (chimney, marine and labuan museum)
  22. Celcom broadband ada liputan yang bagus.
  23. coklat murah (biasa laaa kan)
  24. flight petang LBU-KUL MAS adalah dpd KK.

Tq orang-orang Labuan for the wonderful experience especially our Labuan boss, and the trustee pilotman Bobby  yang membawak kitaorng ke hulu ke hilir.

Next week Monday start outstation at Melaka and then straight to Kota Tinggi. Khamis baru balik KL. Nasib baik trip next week ni yang buat kerja 2 orang, tak macam Labuan aku sensorang…

Hujan outside, takleh merempit gi gym. baru ingat nak jimat.

back doing esquiva and ginga

Workout time

Well i’m back attending the usual fitness classes again. Well i think that’s a good sign of improving my commitment towards healty living.

I noticed my flexiblity has declined. I’m falling behind at the stretching department this year. Nevertheless, 2 weeks of 2010 made me feel confident that my routines is progressing.

Next week will be flying off to Labuan till Thursday. Usually i’ll be excited to fly off somewhere but not this time. Scheduled for Johor the next coming week and will be missing class again. Oh bother.

Riding the magical train

yeah riding the train that is always late. some call it Keretapi Tak Tentu Masa.

It also turned nice people to orang-orang gasar (ala neanderthals) when it failed to arrived as expected.

Managed to pull off a 4 days straight discipline on ‘going to and back from’ the day job using the Komuter. It was a miracle I arrived on time – clocking in at 8.30am and arriving home around 7.pm

KTM improved their shuttle trips and i think i’ll be trying it again next time.
