Chain of command what?!
The chain of command often can be described as the hierarchical structures of authority. It is widely used in the military and adopted in the art of managing organizations. Simply put, it comes into context when there is a need to achieve a certain goal and the task that transpired from the objectives are delegated to a lower level of authority. It is where instructions, permissions, responsibilities are piped down the hierarchy and it is the duty of the lowest unit in the hierarchy to carry out the task and report to the authority above.
To survive the curse of chain of command
In betweeners – like me usually got stuck in the failure of lower units. In the current public service administration, accountability usually stops at the middle level and at the endpoint, slackers usually left to walk free unscathed. Middle level had the option to either absorb or deflect the negative vibe. Well, what i just learned – Trump style, slackers can also be dragged and charged in the boardroom. I will not take the HEAT especially when it is not my fault.
On KPI
Key Performance Indicator is a welcomed approach. Performance can be measured and separates complacent beings from the high flyers. I remembered a good saying, (i dont remember the person who said this) Do your job or be replaced… coz there a lot of other jobless people who desperately need the job.
